A story on The Headless Snake.

「バンコクのアムステルダム」

午後に二時間の休憩、汗が噴き出る猛暑だ。

世界はあなたの牡蠣なのだ、好きにすればいい。誰しも、一日に可能なライフエンジニアリングの量には限界がある。

今は三月。都会の湿った空気が、胸に重たい毛布が纏わりつくかのように溜まる。「罪の寺院」はホテルから割と近い。頭がない蛇は、落ち着きのない尾が満足するまでくねらせてやるのに十分な時間があると考えた。

結局、つまり、バンコクのアムステルダムの動きに関する視覚情報処理は頭頂葉で行われ、その感覚出力が前頭連合野外側部に送られる。

当時まだ准教授だった頭がない蛇は、ほとんど自分自身のニューロンがカタカタ音を立てるのを聞こえるようだった。彼の懐には嘗て和蘭医から貰った麻睡剤の壜が忍ばせてあった。

背外側部では動きの情報を受け取り、連合した行動のコードを活性化させる。上への動きはＭタイプ「行く」ニューロンを興奮させ、Ｍタイプ「行かない」ニューロンを抑制する。

年配の嬪夫は手のひらに書かれた一連の花を見せ、選択の公理は滝の忘却曲線を指していた。

それにしてもMとは、どこからきた？エンパソ3・3も解けなかった謎だ。

[Amsterdam in Bangkok] 

A two-hour break in the afternoon. The heat was fierce.
